Interclub

IMG_7404_edited.jpg

Interclub bowls have several grades but at present Karori play only in the Quads.

Quad teams are for 4 players whom each compete against one other team in their grade on most Saturday mornings from the beginning of October to mid-December. One pair plays 3-bowl pairs and the other 4-bowl pairs in each round. Extra players who can occasionally fill in are very welcome.

There are men’s, women’s and mixed-sex teams in the quad competitions.

Games mostly run from 9 am to about 11.30. They take place at our own club or the opponents club so extra time beforehand is needed to travel to another club or to prepare our own rink.

Any member, or pair of members, who would like to join a team please contact the club convenor. Extra players who can occasionally fill in are also very welcome to put their names forward.

Other grades require teams of 7 or 8 players and we have not had sufficient players for these grades since the 2017-18 season.

Mates in Bowls

MiB image.gif

Mates in Bowls (MiB) is a revised version of the game of lawn bowls that is open to the public to try. No bowling experience is necessary. MiB provides everyone in the community an opportunity to give bowls a try without having to commit to membership.

MiB runs after work on a Thursday night from 5:30 pm -7:30 pm. It runs for 8 weeks, commencing in early February. The cost is $80 per person, (to be paid at the start of the season) and includes a sausage sizzle each night. We supply the bowls and equipment. You are also welcome to purchase drinks at the bar while you are here. The bar is normally open until 8 pm.

To get involved all you need to do is register a team of 3 players (or as an individual who would like to join a team), with the club secretary.

For any further information, please email us at karoribowlingclub@gmail.com attn: Club Secretary
