Membership

We have deliberately kept the cost of membership at the club as reasonably priced as possible. This means more of the community can enjoy the facilities and participate in the club

There are two types of membership at the club. Membership application forms are at the bottom of this page.

Community Member

As a community member you have access to the clubrooms, the club’s shared bowling equipment, and the bar (when it’s open). You are able to participate in club-run competitions and all social activities.

Club members can also hire the clubrooms at a discounted rate for family gatherings (like children’s birthday parties).

Community membership is only $99 for the season. If your partner would also like to join, then it’s only an additional $20.

Full Membership

Full membership affords you the same privileges as community members, with the additional benefits of being able to compete in interclub competitions and hold voting rights at the club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Full club members can also hire the clubrooms at a discounted rate for family gatherings (like children’s birthday parties).

You can apply for full membership after you have been a community member at the club for two years.

Full membership is $129 for the season.

Membership benefits

As well as being able to bowl throughout summer with a beer in hand, the club hosts a number of events throughout the season for its members. Some of the events and activities we have introduced over the past two years are below.

Wednesday Club

Wednesday Club is a club competition that runs on both sides of Christmas for 8 weeks. It is for members only and runs every Wednesday from 5:30 pm -7:30 pm. You can either put in a team of three or put yourself forward to be allocated to a team.

KBC Club Champs

Each season the club runs a knockout competition for its members. The winner receives bragging rights and gets their name added to the prestigious KBC club championship cup.

Whanau Friday is a monthly event where members can bring along their families to get to know other club members. The bar and the greens will be open.

Kids can watch a movie and play games on site, while the adults mingle. As the Committee is committed to the club being used by the community, we put on special Whanau Friday events for kids around Xmas and Halloween.
A contribution towards dinner (pizza or another takeaway food) is requested if you and your family wish to have dinner at the club as well.

Bubbles & Bowls

At least once a season the club has an evening just for adult members and their partners. This is an opportunity for members to get to know one another in a child-free environment and let their hair down.

Bowling Club

As the club is run entirely by volunteers, members are asked from time to time to help. This is mostly at the start of the season to get the clubrooms and grounds ready for the season, and at the end of the season to give the clubrooms and equipment a thorough clean.

Members are also expected to help with the social events and club competitions by helping set up, clean up, and taking turns looking after the BBQ at weekly tournaments.

We are a club that likes to have fun but there will be no tolerance of inappropriate behaviour from our members. Breaching any of the clubs' rules may result in membership being revoked and access to the club grounds being denied.

Please send your completed application form to karoribowlingclub@gmail.com attn: Club Secretary
